Even though Super Tuesday did not determine who will be the presidential candidates for the major parties, the question of who will be vice president is becoming more important. The Republican race has consolidated. It is not so much that Mike Huckabee will drop out, but the fact that he may be the leading vice presidential candidate. He can give McCain the missing conservative support he needs to win. For some reason it seems that the Republicans are not serious about winning the elections this fall. The fact that John McCain will probably win the presidential nomination gives the impression that stronger candidates are holding back. According to the International Herald Tribune[1] the number of Republican incumbents not seeking re-election is at a record high in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Finally the money raised by Republican candidates is far below that of their Democratic rivals. Continue Reading »

Hillary’s veered off course and is in danger of losing the nomination process. Her aggressive attacks on her opponent Barack Obama, which I’m sure she hoped would boost her, backfired. Of course there are other factors that led to Barack’s win in SC, but her sniping certainly repelled many potential supporters.
