Why we have no EU representative

This site relies on the exemption in Article 27(2)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The processing carried out here — recording IP addresses in server logs for operational security and sending cookie-less page-view pings to a separate analytics subdomain — is occasional, of low risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, does not include special categories of personal data on a large scale, and does not include data relating to criminal convictions. Article 27 therefore does not require the appointment of a written EU representative. If you have a question about your personal data, you can reach the controller using the contact details on the Imprint page; if you wish to lodge a complaint, you may do so with the data-protection supervisory authority in your country of residence.

What data is processed

Apache server logs. When you visit this site, the web server automatically records your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user agent string, and the referring page (if any). These logs are processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for operational security and protection against denial-of-service attacks.

Matomo image tracker. The index page sends a single cookie-less image request to a separate subdomain (https://analytics.weiser-info.de) for visitor statistics. The tracker runs no JavaScript on your device, sets no cookies, and does not fingerprint your browser.

Hosting

This site is hosted by the operator's own infrastructure, located in Germany, EU.

Data retention

Apache access logs are kept for 7 days, then automatically deleted.

Your rights

Under GDPR Art. 15–21, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
• rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16);
• request erasure of your data (Art. 17);
• restrict processing of your data (Art. 18);
• receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20);
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21).

Right to complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. Because the controller is established outside the European Union and relies on the Art. 27(2)(a) exemption, there is no single lead supervisory authority for the controller — you may file your complaint with the data-protection authority in your own country of residence (for example, the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection (BfDI) if you live in Germany, the CNIL if you live in France, or the Data Protection Commission if you live in Ireland).

No automated decision-making

This site does not use automated decision-making or profiling under GDPR Art. 22.
